iOS 4.2 Finally Available!
Well, it's finally happened. iOS 4.2 was released for iPad today at about 1pm EST. I ran the update and didn't experience any problems. It was a quick procedure and even my half-watched movie rental remained intact remembering where I had left off.
I have to say that folders are GREAT! I spent about an hour organizing 7 screens down into 2 :)
If you haven't already done so, your update is waiting.

iPad 2.0 only months away!
The rumours are flying today, that the next iteration of the iPad is potentially only months away. It looks like we may have a new iPad as early as February 2011. Judging from what I have seem around the net, it may be lighter than the current version, and of course will sport at least one camera (most likely due to Facetime).

iPad iOS 4.2 already Jailbroken
iOS 4.2 has not even been released yet, and already the jailbreak community is ready to punch a hole through it's defences and unlock the iPad's true potential. It's been a cat-and-mouse game from the beginning with all of Apple's iDevices. It seems the more they try and lock it down, the more determined people are to jailbreak it. Anyway, when the new iOS drops (probably next Wednesday) there will be a jailbreak option available for those who wish to partake.

iOS 4.2! Any minute now...
Well, another Tuesday has come and Apple's big tease for today resulted in The Beatles coming to iTunes. There was hope that iOS 4.2 was finally finished baking and ready for release today. So the wait continues, and we'll have to wait a little longer for multitasking and folders on our iPads.
I won't hold my breath for too long.

Sales predictions lower for the iPad
Analysts are predicting Apple will sell fewer than expected iPad's this quarter. Predictions were as high as 6 million iPads being sold in it's forth quarter. It seems that consumers may be opting for new smart phones, and computers instead of the iPad, which can be considered a 'tween' device.

New iOS for the iPad in November
Earlier this week Apple finally announced that the long awaited iOS 4.2 for iPad will be available in November. With it comes over 100 new features, including multitasking, folders and printing!
Like me, I'm sure you're excited for the release. One thing to note is that this update will break any jailbreak on your iPad. So you'll have to decided if it's worth the trade off.
Another important note, it's a free update! Find out more here.

More iPads Please
It seems that Apple wants to bump up it's current production rate for iPads from two million units per month to three million, according to a research note from Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty. This is half a million more units more than Apple themselves claimed to be shooting for just a few months ago.
I suppose that this increase in production is partly to blame for the now 24 hour ship time that Apple now promises in the Apple Store.

New Apple Event - September 1st
Well, here comes another Apple event. This one is slated for September 1st. Judging by the invitation, and on the time of year, we can expect new iPods. Based on rumours the iPod Touch should finally be getting a camera.
Other rumours point to a new iTV iOS device. These rumours have bee going on for a while now, so I would bet on some credibility to them.
Unfortunately it doesn't sound like there will be any new iPad anything. But, we can expect Steve to update us on some iPad stats. It'll be interesting to see how sales are going since last we heard.

If you'd like to watch movies on your iPad for free, then you should check out this app. It's regularly almost eight bucks, so now is a great time to pick it up. ZenClock

Free - Regularly $0.99
This is a really simple app. It displays the time and a somewhat relaxing image in the background. It also gives you the option to play sound as well. The two choices are 'Waves' or something they call 'Relax', which sounds like a fire on a beach with a crazy cricket in the background that just never shuts up! Then after a while, chanting starts.
Still, it's free, so check it out if you're bored. You can find it here.
